Shopping online can be an overwhelming experience, even more so when you're pregnant and your body is changing constantly. Fortunately, maternity clothes are free-sized in the bump region, so you don't have to worry too much about how big your belly gets, but there are so many other factors to consider .
1. Make sure you know your measurements
This is critical for online shopping no mater what your life stage is, but when you're pregnant your measurements are going to be all different. We do our very best to provide size charts for all our clothing pieces.
The most important measurement is going to be your bust size for tops and dresses. For bottoms, your hip size.
When you're shopping maternity clothes, the waistline is going to be changing constantly, and clothing is designed to accommodate that!
2. Check the materials
This isn't always intuitive because we get so used to being able to feel fabric when we're in a store, but knowing fabric content is essential. Check out the tags on your favorite pieces from you closet and compare to what you're looking at online.
3. Shop nearby for faster shipping
If you live on the east coast and buy from a shop in California, you know shipping could take quite a bit longer. We're lucky at Mama Fox to be located in Wisconsin, where we're about dead center of the country so priority shipping is only 2-3 days on average.
4. Look at the store's social media presence
If you're nervous about the legitimacy of a smaller online store, it's always a good idea to check their social media presence. When there's an active, human presence online in social media, it can not only mean that the business is legit, but you're likely to receive excellent customer service.
